As part of the Disneyland Paris Resort's 20th anniversary in 2012, Disney is planning to add a major E-Ticket ride based on the Disney/Pixar film Ratatouille to its Walt Disney Studios Paris park says a trecent leaked report. Claiming that the project has been approved by the park's management and "confirmed," the report states the the budget for the ride will be between $120 and $140 million, allowing Imagineers to use the same trackless ride system built for Pooh's Hunny Hunt at Tokyo Disneyland. Based on local positioning system (LPS) technology, the patented system works by directional data being relayed from a master control computer directly to each individual ride vehicle through a complex matrix embedded within the floor, telling the vehicles where to go and allowing for complex choreography between multiple vehicles.

It is believed that the indoor dark ride will "shrink" guests to the size of Remy, the rodent star of the film, by using oversized sets, and will begin in the restaurant Gusteau's kitchen, with guests being chased by crazed chef Skinner. The ride is said to not follow the chronological order of the movie, and will feature a number of Audio-Animatronic figures, built on an oversized scale to stay consistent with the idea that the guests have been shrunk to the size of rats.

Beyond the Studios park, the report states that the Disneyland park — which actually will be celebrating its 20th anniversary, unlike the newer Studios — may see its Star Tours ride upgraded, assuming the footage is ready, as well as several new shows and/or a parade.

Ok...when are we getting a cool "trackless" ride system!!  This ride sounds like it'll be a lot of fun.
